This event is part of Escapes, a new offering that gives you the chance to get down to your local cinema for free! Supported by the BFI, awarding National Lottery funding.
At the edge of Borneo’s lush rainforest, Kéria rescues a baby orangutan from the palm oil plantation where her father works. When her young cousin Selaï arrives, seeking refuge from the clash between his Indigenous community and encroaching loggers, the three form a powerful bond. Together, they discover the joys and dangers of this threatened world.

Due to various factors including the screenings being in the evening, the film being in French language with descriptive subtitles, and some of the themes of the film, this event will only be open to 16+ audiences. Please also see our August film which is for families of all ages.

Content Warning: racism, violence towards animals and non-sexual nudity
